Excellent octahedral semi-lustrous black franklinite crystal measuring 4.5 cm across, from point to point, embedded within a 9.0 x 7.0 x 5.5 cm granular crystalline franklinite matrix. Some chipping present is seen, this not terribly atypical of these as this is a notoriously brittle mineral. I think a very good large crystal for the species. Sits nicely by itself for display. Shipping weight: 1.36 pounds. Ex Renaud Vochten collection.
