Galena
specimen number:
4081085
location:
Treece, Tri-State district, Kansas, USA
description:
This is an outstanding large cabinet specimen from this famous and long closed mining district. Mirror bright lustrous cubic crystals of galena to 3.0 cm on edge across the front of this matrix with minor marcasite and sphalerite. This is in remarkably good condition considering the size of the piece. The luster as well is outstanding, as most galena specimens from this mining district are more dull than they are lustrous. This one is super.
Size: 20.0 x 20.0 x 16.0 cm (large-cabinet)
