Galena-twins with Dolomite
specimen number:
7062405
location:
Big Bear Orebody, Fletcher Mine, Viburnum Trend, Reynolds Co., Missouri, USA
description: An outstanding example for this type of twinning for the species from this locality, specimen such as this are quite rare. This was collected from a small series of pockets in this new orebody during the winter of 2015. In outstanding condition with no damage or chipping, flattened twinned crystals as large as 5.0 cm across are standing straight up from a matrix of crystallized galena and scattered richly with pearly white dolomite crystals. Measures 9.5 x 8.0 x 6.0 cm in size, the piece sits perfectly by itself for display and shows well all around. In my opinion one of the better examples recovered.
Size: 9.5 x 8.0 x 6.0 cm (cabinet)
