Galena with Anglesite, Fluorite, Quartz
specimen number:
3651008
location:
Blanchard mine, Bingham, Socorro Co., New Mexico, USA
description:
A wonderful New Mexico classic with a 3.0 cm on edge cubic crystal of galena set beautifully up on a matrix of crystallized quartz with fluorite. The galena crystal is coated with small crystals of anglesite. At first there appears to be some chipping along the one corner of the crystal, upon close examination however this is completely naturally crystallized. Previous label notes that the piece was acquired from New Mexico dealer Tony Otero in 1980.
