Galena with Calcite
specimen number:
4801013
location:
J-19, West Orebody, Sweetwater Mine, Viburnum Trend, Reynolds Co., Missouri, USA
description: Outstanding large top quality display piece for this Missouri classic. The specimen consists of a grouping of mirror bright lustrous metallic crystals of galena, the cluster itself measuring 13.0 x 11.0 x 11.0 cm in size. This is set perfectly up on a breccia matrix covered with colorless crystallized dolomite and small crystals of chalcopyrite. What makes this special, there are many gemmy pale yellow lustrous crystals of calcite measuring to 3.0 cm in size scattered throughout. There is only very minimal cleaving present to a couple of the calcite crystals, considering the size of this piece and what this is, I think that the specimen is in outstanding condition. Complete all around. The specimen comes with a custom acrylic display base. The specimen will ship on a small pallet for safety because of its weight and value. Shipping is free anywhere in the world.
Size: 23.0 x 23.0 x 22.0 cm (large-cabinet)
