location:

description:
A stunning and attractive large cabinet matrix example for galena! This breccia matrix measures 27.0 x 15.0 x 15.0 cm in size. It is almost completely covered by small white pearly dolomite crystals. Scattered throughout are many cubic extremely lustrous crystals of galena measuring to 2.6 cm on edge. There is micro-chipping present throughout, but considering the size and number of crystals on this piece I think it in excellent condition. This sits up perfectly for display by itself. Minor pyrite and chalcopyrite present as well. Colorless scalenohedral translucent calcite crystals to 26.0 cm in size are present also, these mainly on the backside of the piece. The calcite crystals do show minor cleaving on the terminations. Beautiful Museum size display quality specimen for the species.
Size: 27.0 x 15.0 x 15.0 cm (large-cabinet)
