specimen number:
1654148
location:
Frazer's Hush Mine, Rookhope, Weardale, England, UK
description:
An impressive large combination piece for this long closed locality. Grouping of semi lustrous galena crystals measuring 12.5 cm across is set up on a fluorite crystal matrix, the crystal matrix covered by crystals of quartz. Then another generation small purple twinned gemmy crystals of fluorite averaging 1.0 cm in size are mostly covering this quartz. A grouping of pyrrhotite crystals now replaced by pyrite 6.0 cm across is present as well. There is very minimal damage present. This is brightly fluorescent.
