Bright lustrous twinned crystals of galena measuring to almost 2.0 cm in size across the top of a crystallized quartz matrix with siderite. In great condition, choice combination piece.

The Nikolaevskiy Mine, located in the Dalnegorsk ore district of Primorskiy Kray, Russia, opened in 1982 and remains an active underground operation focused on polymetallic extraction. Geologically, the deposit is hosted within deformed Triassic-Jurassic limestone and skarn systems associated with Late Cretaceous volcanism. Hydrothermal activity formed extensive vugs and cavities within the carbonate rocks, creating ideal spaces for the crystallization of world-class sulfide and gangue mineral assemblages, including spectacular galena, sphalerite, pyrrhotite, pyrite, quartz, and fluorite.
