Galena with Sphalerite
specimen number:
1256764
location:
Picher Field, Tri-State District, Ottawa Co., Oklahoma, USA
description: Very fine semi-lustrous cubic crystals of galena measuring to 4.0 cm on edge scattered neatly over a 15.0 x 15.0 x 13.0 cm chert matrix. Minor sphalerite present as well. This sits perfectly by itself for display and shows well all around. Very minor chipping is present as seen, typical of these large Tri-State galena specimens. Overall I think this to be in very good condition and a good large cabinet piece for this old classic.
Size: 15.0 x 15.0 x 13.0 cm (large-cabinet)
