Galena with Sphalerite, Chalcopyrite
specimen number:
9062054
location:
Buick Mine, Iron Co., Missouri, USA
description:
An exceptionally good example showing prominent octahedral crystals of galena to almost 4.0 cm in size over a matrix coated by small sparkling black crystals of sphalerite with minor chalcopyrite. In excellent condition, this measures 12.0 x 10.0 x 3.0 cm in size. A really fine example from this soon to be closed locality, good crystallize sphalerite is not terribly common in this mining district. The luster on the crystals is quite good for this habit. Shipping weight: 1.75 pounds. Ex Charles Noll collection.
Size: 12.0 x 10.0 x 3.0 cm (cabinet)
