description: Ward's Natural Science Establishment, founded in 1862 by Henry Augustus Ward in Rochester, New York, grew to become a premier supplier of geological, paleontological, and biological specimens for museums, universities, and researchers worldwide. Henry Ward utilized his extensive global travels to collect and trade geological specimens, meteorites, and fossils, helping to stock many of North America's major public natural history museums during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Over the decades, the institution evolved from furnishing large research collections and taxidermy displays into a key provider of educational science materials, teaching kits, and mineral samples for classrooms and laboratories.
Large lustrous sharp crystals of grossular with little matrix. The specimen comes with a previous label from Ward's Natural Science Establishment. In good condition.
