description:
This specimen features lustrous, metallic hematite with beautifully twinned crystals reaching up to 1.5 cm in size, attractively perched on matrix. While slight damage is present, the crystals remain well formed, and the specimen is overall in very good condition, highlighting the classic metallic luster and geometric character for which Ocna de Fier hematites are highly collectible. Preserved with an antique label dating to the early 20th century, visible at the end of the video, this piece carries documented historical significance and provenance from one of Romania's classic mining localities. A fine example that combines aesthetic appeal, historical interest, and the enduring charm of classic European minerals.
