Hematite with Quartz
specimen number:
1651623
location:
Malmberget, Gallivare, Lappland, Sweden
description:
A cluster of slightly translucent semi lustrous smoky quartz crystals, red platy crystals of hematite are rich throughout. Neat locality example for the species. This is crystallized naturally all around with no points of attachment. The previous label calls the red mineral lepidocrocite, but I believe it to be hematite. Collected in the late 1990s.
