Hydroxylapatite pseudomorph
specimen number:
2471033
location:
Astillero Mine, Durango, Mexico
description:
Prismatic thin terminated crystals of a previous unknown mineral to 1.2 cm in length now replaced by colorless hydroxylapatite. These are covering most of the top of a 10.0 x 6.5 x 3.5 cm matrix. The previous mineral could have been gypsum or barite, but I don't believe a determination on this is ever been made. This is old classic Mexican pseudomorph material. Shipping weight: 0.28 pounds.
Size: 10.0 x 6.5 x 3.5 cm (cabinet)
