One of the best known localities for hydroxylhedyphane is Langban, Sweden, a classic mineral locality famous for its exceptional diversity of rare species. At Langban, hydroxylhedyphane occurs in association with other lead and manganese bearing minerals, often in skarn like environments that have undergone significant alteration.
