Black prismatic crystals measuring to just over 1.0 cm in size throughout a plagioclase matrix. The specimen comes with an antique label as shown at the end of the video and dates to the very early 20th century. A neat historical example for the species.

Kaersutite is a dark brown to black titanium rich amphibole mineral that forms in alkaline igneous rocks such as basalts and related volcanic environments. It is the titanium bearing variety of hornblende and typically occurs as prismatic crystals or grains within the host rock.
