Ramsbeck is a historic mining district located in Bestwig, Hochsauerlandkreis, Arnsberg, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, with mining activities dating back centuries before its official documented start in 1518 and final industrial closure on January 31, 1974. Geologically, the area is characterized by complex hydrothermal lead, zinc, and silver ore veins hosted within folded Devonian schists and related sedimentary rock formations of the Sauerland region. Within these rich mineralized zones and oxidation areas of local copper-bearing deposits, rare secondary minerals such as langite can be found, which typically form as hydrous copper sulfate crusts and crystalline aggregates.
