description: Liebigite is a hydrated calcium uranium carbonate mineral that forms in the oxidized zones of uranium deposits. It typically develops as bright green to yellow green crusts, coatings, or small crystalline aggregates on rock surfaces. The mineral forms through the interaction of uranium bearing solutions with carbonate rich groundwater.
A brilliant yellow green crystallized example with little attached matrix. Brightly fluorescent. Nice thumbnail for the species.
