Magnetite with Anhydrite

specimen number:
1451004

location:
2500 level, #4 shaft, ZCA mine, Balmat, St Lawrence Co., New York, USA

description:

From the early 1990s, this was an important find for the species. Cubic crystals of magnetite are terribly uncommon on the market. This one shows lustrous crystals measuring to 2.1 cm on edge rich across the top of this matrix. Minor anhydrite is present. All of the prominent crystals are in really good condition.
