Geologically, the area lies within the metallogenic belt of the middle and lower Yangtze River valley, a zone heavily influenced by Mesozoic magmatic activity and tectonics. The local geology features sedimentary and volcano-sedimentary sequences cut by intrusive rocks, creating favorable hydrothermal and skarn-style environments where copper-bearing solutions have circulated. This has resulted in deposits rich in primary copper sulfides that undergo extensive secondary weathering, producing notable specimens of secondary copper minerals such as vibrant azurite, malachite, and native copper.
