Moldavite is a type of tektite, a natural glass formed by a meteorite impact. Specifically, it's the product of a major impact in southern Germany (Nordlinger Ries Crater) about 15 million years ago. This impact ejected molten material, which cooled and solidified into the distinct green tektites known as moldavite. This current example is quite attractive and weighs 10.97 g.
