Muscovite-Microcline-pseudomorph with Quartz, Albite, Microcline
specimen number:
2451031
location:
Mt Malosa, Zomba, Malawi
description:
These unusual specimens are often labeled as parasite-Ce, and that is the way this one came to us. However recent studies have shown these to not be parasite-Ce at all. They have been shown to be a mixture of Muscovite and microcline replacing a previous hexagonal mineral, possibly milarite. This one is excellent and complete all-around associated with quartz, albite, and microcline. The specimen displays well on its own and measures 5.0 x 4.0 x 3.0 cm in size. Shipping weight: 0.08 pounds. Ex Jordi Povill collection.
Size: 5.0 x 4.0 x 3.0 cm (miniature)
