Olivenite with Quartz
specimen number:
2221003
location:
Wheal Gorland, St. Day, Gwennap, Cornwall, England, UK
description: Superb old-time Cornish classic consisting of velvety green crystallized olivenite, the type known as wood tin, covering most of the front half of this 9.5 x 8.0 x 5.0 cm matrix with crystallized quartz. The piece sits perfectly by itself for display on a sawn base. Very aesthetic for one of these. I think in very fine condition. There is a very tiny fracture on the back of the piece; this does not go through the entire specimen. I put a tiny drop of super glue within this just to insure that the specimen is always stable. This is a stabalization, not a repair.
Size: 9.5 x 8.0 x 5.0 cm (cabinet)
