Colorless lustrous blocky crystals of orthoclase, or the variety known as adularia, to 1.5 cm in size across the front of this matrix with minor chlorite. In good condition, classic Alpine material. The specimen comes with an antique label as shown at the end of the video. The label notes that at one time the specimen was part of the collection of Wilhelm Christoph Hoyer (1826-1897), who is noted in historical sources as having "an extensive mineral collection" and being regarded as an authority in mineralogy in his region of Oldenburg.
