description: Pezzottaite is a rare cesium rich variety of beryl that was first described in 2003 from Madagascar. It is sometimes referred to as raspberry beryl due to its pink to raspberry red color, which is caused by trace amounts of manganese. The mineral forms in granitic pegmatites and typically occurs as small prismatic crystals.
