Liuzhou, located in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China, has a long history dating back over 2,000 years to its establishment during the Han Dynasty (circa 111 BC), functioning historically as a regional political, cultural, and industrial hub. Geologically, the region is characterized by extensive karst topography developed over thick Paleozoic and Mesozoic carbonate sequences, featuring dramatic limestone peaks, underground river systems, and fault-bounded basins. Within these regional strata and associated hydrothermal settings, iron and polymetallic sulfide deposits frequently occur. Pyrite (iron disulfide, FeS2) is widely distributed throughout these local formations as cubes, pyritohedrons, or massive aggregates, originating from sedimentary, low-temperature hydrothermal, or metamorphic processes active throughout Southern China's complex tectonic history.
