Pyromorphite
specimen number:
1114550
location:
Bunker Hill mine, Shoshone Co., Idaho, USA
description:
Beautiful lustrous botryoidal crystallized pyromorphite across the top of this matrix. Very minimal micro-chipping present. When looking at this under the microscope, one can find some sparse relict glue. This piece has not been repaired or faked, I believe this is left over from previous trimming work. In trimming specimens, it is not uncommon to soak the specimen in glue to stabilize it for the work, then removing the glue later with acetone.
Size: 8.5 x 5.0 x 1.5 cm (small-cabinet)
