Attractive green translucent prismatic crystals of pyromorphite to 0.4 cm in length on a crystallized quartz matrix. In good condition, this is an excellent locality example for the species.

The Beihilfe Mine, located in Halsbrucke within the Mittelsachsen district of Saxony, Germany, is part of the historic Freiberg mining region. Historically, mining operations began around 1600 for spar extraction, underwent major consolidations and modernizations following the construction of the deep Rotschonberg adit in the nineteenth century, and continued intermittently through periods of silver, lead, and zinc production until final closure in 1969. Geologically, the deposit is hosted within complex metamorphic rock sequences cut by post-Variscan hydrothermal vein systems, specifically belonging to the fluor-barytic lead ore formation. The underground workings are well known among mineral collectors for producing specimens of fluorite, barite, and various sulfide minerals, notably including material recovered from the Blaue Druse crystal cavity discovered prior to the termination of mining.
