Corona Station, situated in the remote outback of New South Wales within the County of Farnell north of Broken Hill, is historically renowned as one of the original pastoral leases established in the early 1870s. Geologically, the area occupies the northernmost portion of the Euriowie Block, consisting predominantly of metasedimentary and gneissic sequences of the Willyama Supergroup, including portions of the Sundown and Paragon Groups alongside local calc-silicate units affected by regional prograde and retrograde metamorphism. Historically, while primarily operated as a large sheep station that later encompassed the ground of the Fowlers Gap research area, the surrounding region has long attracted geological interest due to its complex Proterozoic basement geology and proximity to the mineralized terrains of the Broken Hill block.
