description: An extremely unusual and very neat specimen for this classic Colorado locality. Sugary micro colorless quartz crystals are replacing now long gone rhombohedral rhodochrosite crystals. A second-generation with a large hollow cast of quartz after rhodochrosite measuring 2.8 x 1.5 x 1.5 cm in size is present as well. A light further generation of micro pale pink rhodochrosite crystals is present upon the quartz. The piece measures 9.0 x 5.5 x 3.0 cm in size overall. In outstanding condition. Previously part of the collection of noted Colorado collector Mitch Gunnell. Certainly unique. Shipping weight: 0.69 pounds.
