Quartz var. Amethyst
specimen number:
2051701
location:
Tate Blvd Ind. Park, Hickory, Catawba Co., North Carolina, USA
description:
Purple glassy gemmy skeletal floater crystal grouping of amethyst 8.0 x 6.0 x 3.0 cm in size. Complete all-around and in very good condition. Shipping weight: 0.31 pounds. This came out of a small lot that I acquired in the year 2000 from a collection in Hickory, North Carolina. I sold the piece to Lloyd Tate, got it back when we acquired his collection. Then sold it to Phil Martin, re-acquiring it when we bought his collection. Other than this small lot, I have not seen specimens from this locality available on the mineral market. My guess is that most stay in North Carolina and that the locality is long been closed. Ex Phil Martin collection.
Size: 8.0 x 6.0 x 3.0 cm (small-cabinet)
Collection: Phil Martin
