Quartz-var-Amethyst
specimen number:
2281029
location:
Deer Hill, Stow, Oxford Co., Maine, USA
description:
A very fine large cabinet example for the species from this famous locality in Maine. A skeletal grouping of glassy gemmy purple amethyst crystals with very little attached matrix on the back measuring 19.0 x 9.0 x 4.5 cm overall. Very minimal chipping on the lower right edge, still I think in very good condition considering the overall size of the piece. Good examples from this locality do not often turn up available on the market. Ex Robert Nowakowski collection his label notes that at one time this was in the collection of Charlie Key.
Size: 19.0 x 9.0 x 4.5 cm (large-cabinet)
Collection: Robert Nowakowski
