description:
Very pretty specimen showing purple glassy and gemmy crystals of amethyst to 1.5 cm in size covering the top of this matrix. The matrix is actually quartz forming epimorphs after now gone rhombohedral calcite. Some hematite present as well. Collected in January, 2009.
