description: Good locality example with amethystine quartz across the top of matrix with scalenohedral crystals of calcite. This is in good condition. The Ruschita Mine, located near Rusca Montana in Caras-Severin County, Romania, is situated within the Poiana Rusca Mountains of the Southern Carpathians. Geologically, the deposit consists of massive epimetamorphic marble lenses formed during the Devonian period from ancient coral reefs, which later underwent intense regional dynamo-thermal metamorphism within a complex tectonic setting.
