Attractive combination piece consisting of a grouping of quartz crystals, this hosting bright golden crystals of chalcopyrite to 2.0 cm in size. The red areas of the quartz is due to the presence of hematite. The crystal grouping is double terminated and there are no points of attachment. In good condition.

The Bolivar Mine, located in the Piedras Verdes district of the Urique municipality in Chihuahua, Mexico, is situated within the rugged terrain of the Sierra Madre Occidental. Regionally, the area has a history of small-scale mining and prospecting dating back to the Spanish colonial period. Modern commercial interest expanded in the late 20th century, with limited production occurring between 1980 and 2000, followed by extensive modern underground development and commercial production by Dia Bras Exploration and Sierra Metals starting in the 2010s. Geologically, the deposit is a copper-zinc skarn system formed within Cretaceous andesitic volcanic and sedimentary sequences of the Guerrero terrane. The mineralization shows strong stratigraphic control, with upper calcic horizons hosting higher concentrations of zinc and lower dolomitic horizons containing predominantly copper mineralization.
