Lustrous colorless crystals of quartz measuring to 0.8 cm in size across the top of matrix with green crystallized epidote. In good condition. Collected in August, 1997.

The Ojibway Mine, located in Keweenaw County, Michigan, was organized in 1907 but had a brief and financially difficult operational history, producing a limited amount of refined copper before closing down in 1913. The property was later acquired by the Calumet and Hecla Mining Company in 1941, though no major modern production resumed. Geologically, the mine is situated within the Precambrian volcanic and sedimentary formations of the Keweenaw Peninsula, targeting the amygdaloidal basalt lodes associated with the region's vast Midcontinent Rift system. Mineralogically, the site is known among collectors for producing fine specimens of native copper, native silver, quartz with inclusions, and occasionally other hydrothermal alteration minerals typical of the local copper district.
