The Jinlong Hill deposit, located in Longchuan County of Heyuan Prefecture in Guangdong Province, China, is an iron-ore mining locality celebrated in the mineralogical community. Geologically, the site features hydrothermal vein and replacement mineralization hosted within regional metamorphic and sedimentary country rocks, driven by complex fluid activity associated with Mesozoic granitic magmatism in southeastern China. The deposit is best known among collectors for yielding exceptional mineral specimens, particularly lustrous specular hematite crystals formed in striking iron-rose habits, some replaced by magnetite, alongside well-terminated orange-red quartz crystals. Historically operated as a localized iron mine, it has gained global prominence over recent decades as a source of high-grade aesthetic mineral specimens rather than large-scale industrial output.
