Beautiful purplish red gem prismatic glassy crystals of quartz to 3.2 cm in length covering the top of a 12.0 x 8.5 x 5.0 cm matrix. Minor sphalerite present as well. There is very minor slight damage to a few quartz crystals along the outside of the piece, these broken off at the matrix. All of the prominent crystals are in excellent condition as seen. The purplish red color is said by some to be due to lepidocrocite. I believe it probably is hematite. Very attractive. Shipping weight: 1.54 pounds.
