description: Pasto Bueno in Ancash, Peru, is a historic mining district that has been worked since the early 20th century for tungsten and base metal deposits. Mining focused on hydrothermal veins hosted in granitic and metamorphic rocks, producing minerals such as wolframite along with copper and other metals. The district became especially important during periods of high tungsten demand and developed extensive underground workings.
Pink rhombohedral crystals of rhodochrosite measuring to 0.5 cm are in size across the top of matrix with crystals of quartz and hubnerite. In good condition.
