Schorl with Apatite
specimen number:
4481101
location:
Woolley Farm, Bovey Tracey, Teignbridge, Devon, England, UK
description:
Blocky lustrous black crystals of schorl measuring to 4.5 cm in size on matrix with colorless prismatic crystals of fluorapatite. Very minimal chipping present, I still think this in good condition. This is classic British material, if I am not mistaken the only discovery in 1817. The specimen comes with a previous antique label from Robert Ferguson curiously saying andalusite on the label.
