Thin platy metallic crystals of semseyite measuring to 0.5 cm in size scattered across the top of a crystallized quartz matrix. Some damage present, this still quite choice for the species as an antique piece. The specimen comes with a previous label as shown at the end of the video and dates to the very early 20th century.

The Herja Mine in Maramures, Romania, is part of a historic mining district in the Baia Mare region that has been worked for several centuries for gold, silver, lead, zinc, and other metals from hydrothermal vein deposits hosted in volcanic rocks. Mining activity expanded significantly during the Austro Hungarian period and continued through the 20th century under various operations, with extensive underground workings developed to follow complex ore veins. The locality is well known for its rich and diverse mineralization, including numerous sulfide and sulfosalt species. Historically, the area was known by the Hungarian name Kisbanya, reflecting the regions political and cultural ties before modern national boundaries were established. The Herja Mine remains an important example of Carpathian vein type mineralization and has produced many notable mineral specimens.
