The Tres Cruces District is located in the Inquisivi Province of the La Paz Department, situated within the high-altitude Cordillera Oriental of Bolivia. Geologically, it is a world-class hydrothermal tin-tungsten deposit centered on a series of granite and granodiorite intrusions into Paleozoic sedimentary rocks, primarily Devonian shales and sandstones. During the Hercynian and Andean orogenies, mineral-rich fluids filled cooling fractures and faults, creating a complex system of veins and massive replacement bodies. Historically, the area has been a significant producer of tin and tungsten since the late 19th century, playing a vital role in the Bolivian mining economy alongside the more famous Potosi and Oruro districts.
