Gorgeous lustrous yellowish green botryoidal crystallized smithsonite across the front of matrix. In super condition, the quality is outstanding for the species from this famous locality. The specimen was on public display at the 2026 Tucson Gem and Mineral show.

The Masua Mine in Sardinia, Italy, is a historic mining locality that has been worked since ancient times for lead and zinc deposits in carbonate rocks along the southwest coast. Mining activity expanded during the 19th and early 20th centuries with the development of underground workings and coastal processing facilities. The mine became well known for its scenic setting and engineering works, including structures built along steep coastal cliffs. Operations declined in the late 20th century and eventually ceased, but the site remains an important part of the mining heritage of Sardinia.
