Glassy gemmy crystals of quartz to almost 1.0 cm in size on this thin shell of crystallized smithsonite. When you observe the bottom of the piece you can see a hollow cast where this is formed over the top of a previous scalenohedral calcite crystal now gone. In good condition and quite neat.
