specimen number:
8811743

location:
Bou Bekker Mine, Touissit, Oriental, Morocco

description:
This is a beautiful combination piece and quite nice for this closed Moroccan locality. Attractive green botryoidal crystallized smithsonite across the top of matrix with brochantite, malachite, and azurite. This is in good condition. Very colorful.

Bou Bekker in northeastern Morocco is a historic mining area located near the town of Touissit. The district developed in the early 20th century to extract lead and zinc from hydrothermal deposits hosted in limestone. Mines in the area produced galena, sphalerite, and other associated minerals for many years.
