Sphalerite
specimen number:
4141021
location:
Picher Field, Tri-State district, Oklahoma, USA
description:
A classic old Tri-State specimen showing lustrous black crystals of sphalerite to 2.3 cm in size across the top of a chert matrix. The crystals exhibit twinning. I think in good condition with very slight micro-chipping present. Good specimens from this mining district and getting more and more difficult to obtain.
Size: 8.5 x 6.5 x 4.0 cm (small-cabinet)
