description:
Despite the fact that they do recover zinc in this mining district, good examples of crystallized sphalerite are not terribly common from the Viburnum Trend. This is a very good rich example with black crystals to 0.2 cm in size covering most of the top of this breccia matrix. Colorless crystals of dolomite, sparkling chalcopyrite, and minor galena present as Well. The dolomite crystals are brightly fluorescent white.
