description:
Very choice red slightly translucent crystals of sphalerite to 0.7 cm in size across both sides of this chert matrix with creamy colorless dolomite crystals. Very minimal micro-chipping present, this in very good condition. Sphalerite of course was very common in this district, as it was the main ore mineral, but red ones in this quality were never terribly common. The minor is referred to this as Ruby Jack.
