Sphalerite with Galena, Quartz
specimen number:
4272024
location:
Krushev Dol mine, Madan, Smolyan, Bulgaria
description:
Glassy mostly gemmy yellowish green crystals of sphalerite measuring to 1.0 cm in size across the front of this crystallized quartz matrix with galena. This is in good condition. The unusual color is due to the deficiency of iron. These crystals show very good translucency as seen in the video. Nice example for the species.
