description:
The mines in this area date to 1296. After closure during the Black Death in 1349, mining resumed in the 19th century. The mine worked into the mid-1980's. The area is now a country park. The specimen consists of cleavages of sphalerite to 1.3 cm in size across the front of this quartz crystal matrix with minor galena. Nice locality example for the species.
